The Sparkassen Indoor Meeting Dortmund on February 8, 2026, will focus on maximum sprint power: Sophia Junk (LG Rhein-Wied), Sina Mayer (LAZ Zweibrücken), and Rebekka Haase (Sprintteam Wetzlar) have confirmed their participation in the women's 60 meters. All three were members of the 4x100-meter relay team that won the bronze medal at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo this summer.
Rebekka Haase is one of the most successful German sprinters of recent years – European relay champion in 2022, medalist at the Olympics (bronze in 2024) and World Championships (bronze in 2022 and 2025) with the DLV relay team, as well as multiple German champion in the 60 meters, 100 meters, and 200 meters. Her indoor strength is underlined by a 60-meter best time of 7.14 seconds.
Sophia Junk arrives with a best time of 7.20 seconds, was a World Championship semifinalist in the 200 meters, and won gold in the 200 meters and silver in the 100 meters at the German Championships in Dresden. Sina Mayer brings a personal best of 7.30 seconds, set at the 2021 Indoor Meeting Dortmund, and won bronze in the 100 meters at this year's German Championships. The field is completed by Viola John (LG Brillux Münster), U23 European bronze medalist in the 4x100-meter relay and with a 60-meter personal best of 7.37 seconds.
Due to the last-minute postponement of the Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe to the same day, the organizers of the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting Dortmund have made some targeted adjustments to the main program – and are presenting two premieres: the men's long jump is on the program for the first time, and the women's triple jump is also making its debut. Overall, the range extends from short sprints to middle distances and technical disciplines: the men's events include the 60 meters, 400 meters, 1500 meters, 60 meters hurdles, pole vault, and long jump; the women's events include the 60 meters, 200 meters, 800 meters, and triple jump.
“With Sophia Junk, Sina Mayer, and Rebekka Haase, we have a premium sprint field at the start – which promises high-class 60-meter races. The overlap with Karlsruhe was not ideal for us, so we have rescheduled our program to ensure that we continue to have strong fields,” says Yoshi Müller, head of organization for the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting Dortmund.
Tickets are already on sale at www.reservix.de and at all advance sales outlets connected to the Reservix system. Standing room tickets cost €10, and seats are available in two categories for €20 and €30.

The date has been set: On Sunday, February 8, 2026, the Helmut-Körnig-Halle will once again be transformed into a stage for international athletics at the highest level. For the ninth time, Dortmund will host the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting – an established part of the World Athletics Indoor Tour with Bronze status.
New spectator record at the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting! 3250 enthusiastic athletics fans watched this year's indoor meeting of LG Olympia Dortmund last Saturday in Dortmund's Helmut-Körnig-Halle, which was once again part of the World Athletics Indoor Tour, and were delighted with three new meeting records and three world lead performances.
Last Friday, Sparkasse Dortmund, in cooperation with LG Olympia Dortmund, hosted an exclusive customer event on the eve of the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting. After a welcoming address by Sebastian Junker, member of the Sparkasse Dortmund Management Board, a panel discussion began, moderated by Alexandra Dersch. Yemisi Ogunleye and Oleg Zernikel, both successful athletes, gave the guests exciting insights into their careers, talked about challenges and shared their personal turning points. Both also expressed their anticipation for the upcoming Sparkassen Indoor Meeting in Dortmund.
Oleg Zernikel, who has already taken part in two Olympic Games, also looked back. He particularly remembers participating in 2024 despite health challenges: “It was tough because I fell ill on site and felt physically unwell. Nevertheless, this experience shaped me.” His clear goal: “I want to compete at the Olympic Games for the third time in 2028.”
Olympics: highlights and visions
Yemisi Ogunleye spoke about her greatest sporting success, the Olympic victory, which felt like a fairytale. The Olympic Games were not only a sporting highlight for her, but also proof of how much strength you can draw from setbacks.Oleg Zernikel, who has already taken part in two Olympic Games, also looked back. Setbacks and the way back
In addition to their Olympic moments, both athletes also spoke about the challenges they faced along the way. Ogunleye recalled a serious knee injury that changed her life. At the time, she wondered what her everyday life would be like without sport. “As bad as it was back then, it was my most instructive time,” she explained. During her injury break, she found time to focus on her family, friends and music - something that still accompanies and strengthens her today. Oleg Zernikel also spoke about setbacks in his career. Following a foot injury in 2011, a doctor advised him to stop pole vaulting. “Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had listened to him,” he said.Get-together: personal talks and photos
After the panel discussion, the guests had the opportunity to get to know the athletes personally. Over finger food and in a relaxed atmosphere, they were able to collect autographs, take photos and engage in direct conversation. The closeness and openness of the athletes made the evening a special experience.
The Sparkassen Indoor Meeting on January 18, 2025 in the Helmut-Körnig-Halle promises athletics at the highest level. With the two Olympic champions Yemisi Ogunleye (shot put, MTG Mannheim) and Malaika Mihambo (long jump, LG Kurpfalz), the event, which is once again part of the World Indoor Tour of the World Athletics Association (Bronze Label), has signed up two absolute world stars. No wonder that advance sales are better than ever.
