The women's triple jump will take center stage at the 2026 Sparkassen Indoor Meeting. Leading the field is Caroline Joyeux (LG Nord Berlin), who jumped her way to the top of the European rankings this year with a leap of 14.45 meters and confirmed her international breakthrough shortly afterwards at the European Team Championships with a jump of 14.42 meters. She crowned her rise with German championship gold and a strong World Championship final in Tokyo, where she finished tenth with a jump of 14.00 meters – references that make her the one to beat in Dortmund.
Kira Wittmann (Hannover 96) knows the Helmut-Körnig-Halle well: it was here that she broke the 14-meter mark for the first time in 2023 and won the German indoor title with a jump of 14.08 meters. Last summer, she confirmed her competitive strength with silver at the German Championships – a sign that the Dortmund setup could once again allow for great distances.
As the third strong German, Ruth Hildebrand (SCL Heel Baden-Baden; from 2026 TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen) brings fresh momentum to the competition. After a long injury break, the 21-year-old made an impressive comeback at the German U23 Championships in Ulm with 13.75 meters and the title win. And with Sarah-Michelle Kudla (LG Nord Berlin; PB 13.85 m), the fourth-place finisher at the German Championships in Dresden and fifth-place finisher at the World University Games in Bochum-Wattenscheid will also be competing.
Internationally, a trio awaits that will add extra prestige to the competition: Dovilė Kilty (Lithuania) comes to Dortmund with a personal best of 14.28 meters and 17 national titles. This year, she finished fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn. Neja Filipič (Slovenia) is also one of Europe's best jumpers with a personal best of 14.42 meters. She finished a respectable sixth at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing and ninth at the World Championships in Tokyo. Emilia Sjöstrand (Sweden) catapulted herself into the 14-meter club in 2024 with a jump of 14.09 meters and finished sixth at the World University Games this year. The field is complemented by Mariia Siney (Ukraine; PB 14.12 m) and Maureen Herremans, who holds the Dutch indoor record with 13.21 meters.
Yoshi Müller, head of organization for the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting: “We have an exciting mix of established names and up-and-coming athletes. This field promises not only distance, but above all excitement until the very last attempt.”
